NORTH
Colorado Media Group is a unique multimedia platform whose content, promotions, and informational venues honor the city of Colorado Springs where we live, work, & play. NORTH magazine is the print aspect of this media company that I am the lead designer for. NORTH magazine profiles some of the community’s most extraordinary leaders and contributors and has a distribution of more than 140,000.
NORTH Special Section: The ARTS
In honor of “Arts Month”, I designed a special section for the magazine that explores the growing Colorado Springs arts community. I was inspired by the German Bauhaus design style that features a geometric, abstract style and bold primary colors.
NORTH Cover Features
Honestly it can be a little intimidating designing the cover features for NORTH. They feature very prominent leaders in Colorado Springs and I want to be sure to do them justice. I like to focus on the person by choosing warm, inviting photos of them and break up the article in an eye catching way for the reader.
NORTH Lifestyle: Recipes
My favorite spreads to design for NORTH are definitely the recipes. Who doesn’t love looking at delicious food?! I love how recipe pages have smaller amounts of copy that allow for more creativity by adding subtle illustrations and fun fonts.
